These medicines stabilize and even improve the person's mental abilities and bring down the prevalence of the disease. There are other medicines given to bring down the incidence of dangerous and aggressive behaviors. These medicines are usually given in very low doses. It is advisable not to stop taking or change medicines or Alzheimer's disease drugs without the consultation with a doctor. Sometimes the confusion worsens and there is the necessity to stop these drugs and may include cimetidine, pain killers, sleeping pills and central nervous system depressants and other medicines. Alzheimer's disease is a terminal disorder in the west particularly in the United States. The disease requires the intervention of a specialist and it takes time to cure and often it might not be entirely cured.
